It was hard to find much information on Shirley Jackson. She does not seem to talk aout herself often; most of the information out there seems to be from her friends and family rather than anything autobiographical. According to The New York Times, Shirley Jackson was an American author, who was most well-known for her short story titled “The Lottery” (1). She died at the age of forty-five “after an apparent heart attack” (The New York Times, 1).
